What this conversion creates
The output is a real FLAC file encoded as FLAC. AudibleLite runs a bundled WebAssembly audio engine locally; it does not rename the extension or send your audio to an application conversion server.
When this format helps
This is useful when software accepts FLAC but not MP3, or when avoiding another lossy encoding step.
FLAC is widely supported by modern audio tools, though the result will be larger than the MP3 source.
Quality and file-size limits
FLAC output cannot restore detail already lost in the MP3. It only avoids adding another lossy encode.
